The City, the Lake, the Mountains and world-class Education?
The
cosmopolitan City of Lucerne (Luzern in the German language) and the
surrounding countryside, is home to 350,000 people. It is a world-famous
region of culture, tourism and outstanding natural beauty.
Lucerne
is a mayor European destination for visitors from around the world.
Every day thousands of tourists stroll around beautiful center of the
City, enjoy the world-class shopping or looking at the many sights, like
the 13th century wooden bridge across the mouth of the lake, the many
fine churches and museums, or visits the state of the arts concert hall,
that has reputably on of the best acoustics in Europe.
Tripadvisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com voted Lucerne as the fifth most popular tourist destination in the world in 2010.
It
has been voted in the international press to be among the most
desirable places for expatriates to live and work (25% of the population
is from abroad). What makes Lucerne so attractive for our foreign
residents is the international environment, the many cultural events,
excellent hotels and restaurants, touristic and sporting activities.
Although
Lucerne is traditionally known as a tourist destination, but is a
little known fact, also a center of higher education for over 15,000
national and international students from more than 150 countries. This
is one of the reasons why the city fathers offer free Internet in the
City center to all students, and the whole population.

Lucerne
is one of the safest places in the world. A 2007 survey from the
largest Newspaper BLICK, ranked Lucerne first as the cleanest, as well
as the safest city with the highest level in social care among all other
Swiss cities. And Switzerland is perennially ranked in the top 3 "best
countries" list making living and studying in Switzerland a wonderful
